Dubrovnik

After a long trip (two flights, a bus ride and a couple of stairs), we finally made it to our amazing apartment in Dubrovnik! The apartment was on top of a little hill with a beautiful view on Dubrovnik old town. Every morning we had breakfast outside enjoying the view, the sun and our coffees! Our landlady was the kindest person in the world and would give us fresh tomatoes from her garden, homemade cake or delicious homemade banana ice cream. Being welcome that way in such a wonderful place might explain why we loved Dubrovnik so much and had a great time there!

We went several time to Dubrovnik old town and enjoyed walking around, discovering all its narrow little streets and restaurants. We tried the black risotto (a Dalmatian speciality), had a lot of fish (for me) and lamb (for Jeppe)! We did a full day kayak excursion to one of the Elafiti’s island (Kolocep) where we swam into a blue cave and hiked. It was magic and probably our best day but unfortunately we have no picture from this excursion (paddling and taking pictures at the same time is hard to do). It was a great experience though we were quite sore the following day! We also took a boat from Dubrovnik harbour to Lokrum island where we visited its botanical garden, had a swim into a small dead sea (salted water lake on the island) and the sea itself!
